With subscribers in pursuance to an order of Court having perused and examined the above account of JOSEPH LEECH with the estate of FREDERICK JONES, deceased to find the above balance of £314.13 proc. due from said FREDERICK JONES estate to the said JOSEPH LEECH, executor to the set of State WILLIAM WILLIAMS JAMES DAVIS Page 2 of 14 ** PAGE BREAK ** Will Probate, NC, Craven, Frederick Jones 1758 State of North Carolina Craven County Pursuant to the next order of cord with a subscribers there in named, have taken upon us the division of the estate there in mentioned. FREDERICK JONES by his last will and testament we find, did give and bequeath the following Negroes, to wit: CAROLINA, PETER, QUARK, SIMON and NED, negro men CATO, BEN, TOM and BLACK BEN negro boys BETTY and MISTILLA negro women TEMP and NANCY girls The use of them to his mother MARY MOORE during her life and after her deceased to his brother HARDING JONES and after his deceased to his children to be equally divided among them. HARDING JONES died, and at the time of his death left one daughter MARY JONES, and his wife being then with child had also who was named HARDING FREDERICK JONES, who died intestate after which MARY died. The above Negroes, we have divided in the following manner viz: CATO, TEMP, NANCY, BLACK BEN to Miss MARY JONES BEN, BETTY and child ABIGILL, QUARK and NED to HARDING FREDERICK JONES, the intestate The intestates part we have divided in the following manner between Miss MARY JONES and her mother Mrs. ELLIS viz: QUARK, NED, ABIGILL child to Miss MARY JONES BEN and BETTY to Mrs. ELLIS her half of the intestate part. We have also taken and in consideration that part of the intestate estate under the will of his father HARDING JONES to wit: HARDING JONES by his last will and testament did give and bequeath to his daughter MARY JONES The Following Negroes to wit: DANIEL, SARAH & child DOLL, PEG & child SARAH, DAN, SOLOMON, LUCY, BIDDIFER and LONDON And by codicil to said will, in case Mrs. JONES did prove with child and it should be born before or after his death, then he ordered and directed by his codicil to sell that the whole of the estate which by his said will he had given to his daughter MARY JONES, should be equally divided between the two children. Page 3 of 14 ** PAGE BREAK ** Will Probate, NC, Craven, Frederick Jones 1758 A child was born and he was named HARDING FREDERICK JONES, who died intestate, by which Mrs. JONES, the intestate’s mother, now Mrs. ELLIS, was interested to a part in the estate of the said intestate to which we have divided in the following manner, to wit: DAN, LONDON, SOLOMON, SUE, DENY, LUCY, PEGG and JOE for her [MARY JONES] part of her father's Legacy and half of her brothers intestate part. And it is further ordered that THOMAS HASLEN Esqr. be appointed Guardian to MARY JONES a minor, sister of the deceased, for this particular purpose, to inspect into and examine the account of such division on the past in behalf of the said MARY JONES.
