In the name of God Amen.

I JOHN BRYAN of the county Edgecombe and the state of North Carolina being in a
low state of health but in perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same,
calling on to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for
all men once to die do make and ordained this my last will and testament. That is
to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul unto the hands
of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in
decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting, but at
the general Resurrection I shall receive the Same Again by The Mighty power of God.

And as touching such worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in
this life, I give, demise, dispose scratch and dispose of the same in the following
Manner and form.

1st I give and bequeath to my son HARDY BRYAN 50 acres of land more or less joining
ROBERT MCMULLEN’s land and JONAS PARKER's.

2nd I give and bequeath to my son WRIGHT BRYAN 50 acres of land more or less
joining PHILIP POPE's land and JOB BRADY.

3rd I give and bequeath to my son ROBERT BRYAN 50 acres of land more or less
joining right Bryan's land and Frederick Savage.

4th I give and bequeath to my son ISHAM BRYAN 50 acres of land more or less joining
ROBERT BRYAN's land and WILKERSON MABRY's.

5th I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my son JESSE BRYAN the sum of ten
shillings.

6th I give and bequeath unto my daughter PHERABY [BRYAN] MCMULLEN the sum of ten
shillings.

7th I give and bequeath unto my son ISHAM BRYAN one feather bed and furniture.

8th I given unto my son WRIGHT BRYAN one feather bed and furniture.

9th I give and bequeath under my son ROBERT BRYAN one feather bed and furniture.
also it is my desire that my son ROBERT BRYAN shall have all the rest of my estate
that I leave after my death.

I also ordained to this my last will and testament to be my whole executors my four
sons HARDY BRYAN, ISHAM BRYAN, WRIGHT BRYAN, and ROBERT BRYAN, and I do hereby
utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former Testaments,
Wills, legacies, bequests, and executors by me, in any wise before named, willed,
and decreased. Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and
testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of December
in the year of Our Lord 1801.

Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said JOHN BRYAN has his last
will and testament in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names.

May Court 1803

The within will of JOHN BRYAN deceased was offered for probate and caveated by
ROBERT MCMULLEN and was tried by a jury whether it was the last will and testament
of the said JOHN BRYAN or not. When they determined that it was the last will and
testament as the aforesaid JOHN BRYAN deceased and was admitted to probate and was
proven by the oath of PERSON GLOVER and ELIZABETH HACKNEY two of the subscribing
witnesses thereto.

HARDY BRYAN one of the executors therein named was at the same time qualified.

Ordered that the will be recorded.
