Will, DE, Sussex, THOMAS PRETTYMAN, 1719 In the name of God Amen. THOMAS PRETTYMAN Sr., of the county of Sussex one of the counties of Delaware Bay in the territories of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, being sick and weak in body but sound and perfect mind and memory praise be there for given to almighty God for the same to make my last will and testament in manner and form following. FIRST I give and bequeath my my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it to me hoping and assuredly believing in and through the merits of the death and passion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to receive full and free pardon and remission of all my sins and offenses, and as for my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased almighty God of this great goodness to bless me with this vain and transitory world I give and dispose thereof as followeth, viz. I GIVE AND BEQUEATH unto my son THOMAS PRETTYMAN my two hundred acres of land which I had of my brother WILLIAM PRETTYMAN lying upon Lack Creek in the county of aforesaid only my desire is that my wife hath her lifetime in the said land but if it please God that he liveth to settle any part that she shall not hinder him. ITEM I give to my son THOMAS PRETTYMAN my round barrel gun to be delivered to him when he arrives to the age of sixteen years old do with as he pleases. ITEM I give him a crease to my son ROBERT PRETTYMAN and his heirs one hundred and twelve acres of land which I took up which lieth upon Waples line. ITEM I give to my daughter ELIZABETH PRETTYMAN one bed and bolster and one pair of sheets and one pair of homespun blankets and a coverlet. ITEM I give and bequeath to my brother WILLIAM PRETTYMAN my gray Drugget coat lined with linciwoolsy. ITEM I give to my brother ROBERT PRETTYMAN my close bodied coat. ITEM I Give to my brother JOHN PRETTYMAN my blue Drugget vest & my gray Drugett breaches. ITEM I give and bequeath to my well-beloved wife COMFORT [SHEPARD] PRETTYMAN all the remainder part of my estate during her natural life and after her decease my will is that it may be equally divided between my two sons THOMAS [PRETTYMAN] and ROBERT PRETTYMAN. ITEM I hereby nominate, make, constitute, ordained and point my well-beloved wife my whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament, revoking and disannulling all other wills either in writing or by word or by mouth by me previously made ratifying and confirming this to stand for and be my last will and testament. C., P. Regr Then personally appeared before me PRESERVED COGGESHALL Deputy Registrar appointed for the probate of wills and Testaments and the granting of letters of administration for the said Sussex County ANDERSON PARKER, Esq., one of his Majesty's justices of the peace for the said Sussex County and HUGH VERDIN the evidence to the within written last will and testament subscribing and on their solemn oaths did declare that in their sight presence and hearing the testator THOMAS PRETTYMAN, within named, did sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declair the within written instrument of writing to be his last will and testament as also that they did see ELIZABETH WALKER sign with them as an evidence to the said Testament and that have to doing their of the said testator THOMAS PRETTYMAN, to the best of their memory and judgment, was in a condition to dispose of his estate.
