Jones, administrator of Parthena Fewell, deceased, showeth that for the payment of debts & for partition it is necessary that the personal estate be sold he therefore prays you to grant him an order for that purpose. December 4th 1854 John W. Jones John W. Jones, administrator of Parthena Fewell, deceased, is hereby authorized to sell at public sale on the 20th December instant all the personal estate of deceased on a credit of twelve months with interest, purchaser giving bond & good security for all sums exceeding two dollars & for two dollars and under, cash. MCCALLUM are holding firmly bound to JOHN M. ROSS Esquire ordinary for the District of York in the full and just sum of one thousand dollars, lawful money of the state, to be paid to the said JOHN M. ROSS or his successors ordinaries of this District or there certain attorneys or as signs. To which payment well and truly be made we find ourselves and every of us our and every of our heirs Executives and administrators for the whole and in the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with are seals 4th day of December in the year of Our Lord 1854 and in the seventy ninth year of American Independence. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the bound JOHN W. NEELY administrator of the goods chattels and credits of PARTHENIA FEWELL, deceased to make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands or possessions or knowledge of the said David Robinson or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made to exhibit into the said Court of ordinary when he shall be here on to required and such goods chattels and credits do well and truly administer according to law and do make a just and true account of his acting’s and doings there in then when required by the said court and all the rest of the said goods chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account for the said administration the same being first allowed by the said Court shall deliver and pay on to such persons respectively as are entitled to the Same by law and if it shall hereby appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the same be proved in court and that the executor is obtain a certificate of the probate thereof and the said JOHN W. JONES do in such case if required render and deliver up the said letters of administration than this obligation to be void or else to remain in full force. JOHN W. ROSS, Esquire, ordinary Whereas PERTHENIA FEWELL, late of York District deceased, lately died intestate, having whilst she lived, and at the time of her death, divers goods, rights, and credits, within the State aforesaid; by means whereof the full disposition and power of granting the administration of all and singular the goods, rights, and credits, of the said deceased, and also auditing the accounts, calculations, and reckonings, of the said administration; and a final dismission of the same, to me is manifestly known to belong. I desiring that the goods, rights and credits, of the said deceased, may be well and truly administered, converted, and disposed of, do hereby grant unto the said JOHN W. JONES, in whose fidelity in this behalf, I very much confide, full power, by the tenor of these presents, to administer the goods, rights and credits, of the said deceased, which to her in her life time, and at the time of her death, did belong, and to ask, levy, recover, and received, the same, and pay the debts in which the deceased stood obligated, so far as her goods, rights and credits will extend, according to their rate and order of law, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory thereof, and to exhibit the same into the ordinary’s office, in Yorkville, in order to be recorded, on or before the 4th day of March now next ensuing, and to render a just and true account, calculation and reckoning, of the said administration, when thereunto required: And I ordain, depute, and constitute you, the said JOHN W. JONES administrator of all and singular the goods, rights, and credits of the said deceased. These are to authorize and empower you, or any three or four of you whose names are hereunder written, to repair to all such parts and places within this State as you shall be directed unto by JOHN W. JONES, administrator of all and singular the Goods, Rights, and Credits, of PERTHANIA FEWELL late of York District deceased, wheresoever any of the Goods and Chattles of the said deceased are or do remain within the said parts and places, and which shall be shown unto you by the said JOHN W. JONES and there view and appraise all and every the said Goods and Chattles, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof, and cause the same to be returned under your hands, or any three or for of you, to the said JOHN W. SAMUEL SMITH, DUNCAN MCCALLUM and JAMES FINDLY, being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the Goods and Chattels of PERTHANEY FEWELL, late of York District deceased, who being duly sworn, made oath, that they would make a just and true appraisement of all and singular the Goods and Chattels of PERTHANIA FEWELL, deceased, ash shall be produced by JOHN JONES, Administrator of the estate of PERTHANA FEWELL deceased, and that they would return the same, certified under their hands, unto the said JOHN JONES, administrator within the time prescribed by law.
