To WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON. Whereas ELIZABETH REEVES, late of the district aforesaid lately died intestate have whilst she lived and at the time of her death divers goods, rights and credits within the district aforesaid by means whereof the full disposition and power of granting the administration of all & singular the goods, rights & credits of the said deceased & also auditing the accounts, calculations and reckonings of the said administration & a final dismission of the same to me is manifestly known to below. I desiring that the goods, rights & credits of the said deceased may be well & truly administered, converted and disposed of do hereby grant unto the said WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON in whose fidelity in this behalf I very much confide full power by the tenor of these presents to administer the goods, rights & credits of the said deceased which to her in her lifetime & at the time of her death did belong & to ask leave recover & receive the same & to pay the debts in which the deceased stood obliged to pay forth as her goods, rights & credits will extend according to their rate & order of law being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God to make a true & perfect inventory thereof & to exhibit the same into the ordinary’s office in Yorkville in order to be recorded on or before the tenth day of March now next ensuing & to render a just & true account calculation & reckoning of the said administration when thereunto required and I ordain, depute & constitute you, the said WILLIAM REEVE & WILLIAM THOMASON administrators of all and singular the goods, rights & credits of the said deceased. To which payment well and truly be made, we bind ourselves, and every of us, our and every of our heirs, executors and administrators, for the whole, and in the whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the 13th day of December in the year of Our Lord 1822. The condition of the above obligation as such, that if the above bound WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON administrators of the goods, chattels and credits of ELIZABETH REEVES deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory, of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for them and the same so made, do exhibit into the said Court of ordinary, when they shall be there on to required, and such goods, chattels and credits do well and truly administer according to law, and do make a just and true account of their acting and doing there in when required by the said court, and all the rest of the said goods, chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said Administration, the same being first allowed by the said court, shall deliver and pay on to such persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law; and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was paid by the said deceased, and the same be proven in court, and the executor obtain a certificate of the probate there of, and the said WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON do in such case, if required, render and deliver up the sad letters of administration, then this obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force. WILLIAM LITTLE, THOMAS ROACH, THOMAS ROBERTSON, JOHN BARNES, JOHN FEWELL BENJAMIN CHAMBERS, OYD Memorandum, that on the 14th day of December in the year of Our Lord 1822 personally appeared before me RICHARD SADLER one of the justices assigned to keep the peace in your District WILLIAM LITTLE, THOMAS ROACH, and JOHN FEWELL being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattels of ELIZABETH REEVES late of the said District, deceased, who, being duly sworn, made oath, that they would make a just and true appraisement of all and singular, the goods and chattels of the said ELIZABETH REEVES as shall be produced by WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON of the estate of the deceased, and that they would return the same, under their hands unto the said WILLIAM REEVES and WILLIAM THOMASON on or before the 10th day of February next.
