I ROBERT THOMAS BRYAN, JR., a native and loyal citizen of the United States,
hereby apply to the Department of State, at Washington, for a passport for
myself.

I solemnly swear that I was born at Shanghai, in China on or about the 13th
day of October 1892, that my father ROBERT T. BRYAN was born North Carolina
and is now Shanghai, China. That my legal domicile is in North Carolina, my
permanent residence being in Shanghai, Chine; that in the United States I
followed the occupation of Attorney at Law, and last left the United States
on March 12, 1917 arriving at Shanghai, China, on April 6, 1917 where I am now
residing for the purpose of Attorney at Law, on behalf of Daves & Bryan and
that I have resided outside the United States at the following places for the
following periods.

China, from 1892 to 1893
China, from 1894 to 1902
China, from 1894 to 1908
China, from 1910 to 1911
China, from 1917 to date hereof.

I desire a passport for use in visiting the countries hereinafter named for
the following purpose:

China                            Professional work
Japan, Great Britain, France     Travel
Germany, Italy, India, Siam      Travel

                               OATH OF ALLEGIANCE

Further, I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the constitution
of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will
bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I take this obligation
freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion: So help me God.
