Book 33, pages 210-213, Union County, North Carolina. HENRY FRANKLIN DAVIS, son of EDMOND L. DAVIS, married Miss BROOKS. Rev CULPEPPER A. DAVIS, son of EDMUND L. DAVIS, married ELIZABETH HAMILTON. SUSAN DAVIS married Aug. 4, 1869. MILTON GRIFFIN (daughter of EDMUND L. DAVIS, not mentioned in Bible but listed in 1850 census records as child of EDMOND L. DAVIS.) ELIZABETH INGRAM DAVIS, widow of ISHAM DAVIS, was living in the home of her son, EDMOND L. DAVIS in 1850 census. Deaths - MARY NEWSOME DAVIS. wife of EDMOND L. DAVIS died Aug. 31, 1945; SUSANNA GADDY DAVIS, wife of EDMOND L. DAVIS, died Jan. 12, 1856; MARTHA GRADY DAVIS, wife of EDMOND L. DAVIS, died Aug. 5, 1872; SARAH L. DAVIS, wife of EDMOND L. DAVIS died April 8, 1896. EDMOND L. DAVIS, died June 6, 1896 (buried at EDMOND DAVIS graveyard near Olive Branch.) LEWIS DIXON DAVIS died November 6, 1861. MARY JANE DAVIS died October 2, 1846. MARY K. DAVIS died July 7, 1856 (drowned). GEORGE W. DAVIS died February 2, 1844. LEMUEL B. DAVIS died April 8. 1876. Anson County, North Carolina — Book 10, Page 78. January Session, 1840. ISHAM DAVIS and wife, ELISABETH deeded land to “our son," EDMOND L. DAVIS. to take care of them. Anson County, North Carolina, Book 10, Page 66, 1840. Another tract of land adjoining ANDREW POLK's Line. ARTHUR DAVIS, JACKSON DAVIS line and JOBE DAVIS. ISHAM DAVIS died in 1839 but the deed was not recorded until 1840. ISHAM was sometimes spelled “Isom". ISHAM DAVIS had uncles in Marion County, South Carolina, with whom he enlisted in the Revolutionary War, when a very young man. He was in a Company that belonged to General ANDREW PICKENS' Brigade. After the war he returned home, married, and lived in Anson county, N. C. ISHAM DAVIS was a son of CHRISTOPHER DAVIS who made a will in Anson county. N. C. April 6, 1788. Will recorded in Book 1, Page 51 in Anson county, N. C. His wife was a daughter of JESSE INGRAM, whose estate was divided among his heirs, Aug. 29, 1818. JESSE INGRAM's Estate. Children: ISHAM DAVIS and wife, ELIZABETH INGRAM DAVIS. MOODY INGRAM. SAMUEL INGRAM. HENRY N. INGRAM and wife, PATSY, ISHAM DAVIS Jr., JOAB WHITE. GEORGE INGRAM‘s Will — Anson Co N. C., Aug. 2. 1775, Book 1, Page 23, will recorder. Oct. 1775. Children: JOHN INGRAM, JESSE INGRAM, TABITHA INGRAM, NANCY INGRAM. ISHAM DAVIS and ELIZABETH INGRAM DAVIS. Children: MARY, born 1805 married 1825 to BUCK CARPENTER, ARTHUR, JAMES, CHRISTOPHER, WILLIAM, EDMOND LILLY, ISHAM Jr., JACKSON, JOBE, another daughter. South wales, on the ship “James and Mary," in 1701, with 20 others of Welsh Baptist faith. EVAN DAVIS, son of JOHN DAVIS, settled on the Pee Dee river in South Carolina, in 1733 and married a Widow WILLIAMS, nee EMORY. EVAN DAVIS, supposedly had sons — HENRY and SAMUEL. HENRY DAVIS settled three miles south of Polkton, N. C. and reared a large family. HENRY was supposed to be the father of CHRISTOPHER, will dated 1788, and JOHN DAVIS who married (1) Miss BARBER (2) NANCY MARSHALL NANCE. SAMUEL, son of EVAN, married JANE COOK and settled near Augusta GA, then to Todd Co. Ky., where sons JOSEPH, ISAAC and JEFFERSON were born.
