Deed, SC, All Saints, SAMUEL PRICE, 1786

I, SAMUEL PRICE of parish of All Saints, George Town district, do assign over to
the commissioners of the Loan Office, my Plantation whereon I now reside situated
in the parish and District aforesaid containing 400 acres of land which I bought of
EDWARD MARTIN Sheriff of Georgetown and then the property of JOHN LESESNE and by
him sold and or an execution founded at present NW buy lands of DANIEL MORRALL, SW
on lands formerly the property of WILLIAM GAUSE [GAUS], now belonging to the estate
of CHARLES LEWIS, SW on land formerly the said WILLIAM GAUSE’ and FITZPATRICK, now
of the estate of said CHARLES LEWIS, and in SW side by land supposed to be vacant.
For a farther description refer to plat and appraisement in N 337.

Which said Plantation I declare to be in mortgage for the repayment of £250 with
the legal interest of 7 per centum per annum for the date hereof and I do agree
that the same may be exposed to sale, according to law, if I do not repay the
principal and interest at the several and respective times on which they should be
lawfully doing payable.

Before us, THOMAS HARRIS and DANIEL MORRALL, justices assigned to keep the peace in
the district aforesaid, personally appeared WILLIAM HENRY LEWIS, THOMAS READY, and
WILLIAM FREDERICK LEWIS, freeholders who being duly sworn declare that they and
each of them have valued an appraised one tract of land situated in the parish of
All Saints, Craven County, in the state aforesaid, containing 400 Acres more, or
less, bounded on NE on DANIEL MORRALL to the SW on land formerly by WILLIAM GAUSE
[GAUS] to the SE on land formerly held by GAUSE and FITZPATRICK the other side's by
vacant land and have such shape, form and marks as the above plat represents and is
the property of SAMUEL PRICE, which we think worth £800 sterling

Mesne conveyance office

I do certify that there is a conveyance of the within 400 acres of land from EDWARD
MARTIN to SAMUEL PRICE lodged in my hand for recording, but time would not permit,
of which there is no recording in this office nor any recordings from the said
SAMUEL PRICE of mortgage or bill of sale to any person or persons whatsoever.

Given under my hand this 12th day of July 1786

in the said office either of mortgage or sail from Mister SAMUEL PRICE to any
