Deed, NY, Clinton, Means and Bailey to Soper and Platt, 1815 THIS INDENTURE made this 9th day of April in the year of our Lord 1815. BETWEEN BENJAMIN MEANS and WILLIAM BAILEY in the state of New York in the county of Clinton, Esquires, of the first part and MOSES SOPER and NATHANIEL PLATT Jr. of the same place of the second part. WITNESSETH that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $1 paid by the said parties of the second part to them, the said parties of the first part at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, remised, released and forever quit claimed and by these presents do remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said parties of the second part and unto their heirs and assigns forever, all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the town and county, aforesaid, known by the name of the mill lot at Salmon River. Beginning in the south line of SEBE THOMPSON’s land at a point where the line drawn due north from Salmon River twenty rods below where the old saw Mill of PLATT and SOPER stood will strike the said south line; and running thence south to a point twenty rods south fo the south shore of Salmon River; thence west to the east line of DANIEL PLATT’s lot No. 99; thence north to the north east corner of said lot No. 99; thence west so far that a line drawn due north to a point due west from the place of beginning; and thence to the place of beginning shall contain one hundred acres of land; thence north to the said point west of the place to beginning. EXCEPTING and reserving out of the same all lots or parcels of the same heretofore sold and conveyed by NATHANIEL PLATT or the said parties of the first part to any person or persons other than the said parties of the second part.
