Deed, GA, Jackson, George Keith to Sarah Briant 1807 Georgia Jackson County This indenture made the 24th day of October 1807. BETWEEN GEORGE KEITH of the said State and County of the one part and SARAH BRIANT of the said State and County. WITNESSETH that the said GEORGE KEITH, for and in consideration of the sum of $550, to him in hand paid by the said SARAH BRIANT, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargain, and sold, released and conveyed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, and convey unto the said SARAH BRIANT, her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land lying on the Big Pond Fork Of the Oconee River in Jackson County and state aforesaid containing 160 Acres, more or less. Beginning on a Black Gum on the river; thence to a Post Oak; on thence to a pine corner; thence to a Pine corner on PATRICK SHIELDS’ line; thence to a Red Oak corner; thence to a Red Oak corner on said river; thence up said river to the beginning. WHICH SAID TRACT OF LAND is part of a tract of hundred acres originally granted to WILLIAM YOUNG together with all and singular the rights, members, and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land be any belonging or in anywise appertaining and all the remainders, reversions, rents, issues, and profits and every part thereof. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract of land and all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging, aforesaid, and every part thereof unto the said SARAH BRIANT, her heirs and assigns forever, to her only proper use and behoof of the said SARAH BRIANT her heirs and assigns forever and the said GEORGE KEITH hath himself and for his heirs the tract of land and premises aforesaid, and every part and thereof, unto the said SARAH BRIANT her heirs and assigns against the claim of the said GEORGE KEITH, and his heirs and assigns, and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming or pretending to claim the said land from under him or any of them shall and will and forever defend a right in fee simple by these presents.
