Will, DE, Sussex, Solomon Hill 1778

In the name of God Amen.

I SOLOMON HILL being in a week and low condition and calling to mind immortality of
my state and knowing that it is appointed for all men wants to die to constitute,
ordained, and a point this as my last will and testament.

And as for what estate it has pleased God to bless me with and this life I give and
bequeath it in the matter and form following being in perfect senses that is to
say:

IMPRIMIS I give unto my well-beloved wife BETTY HILL all my whole and sole estate
both real and personal during her life allowing her to be whole and sole executrix.

ITEM after the decease of my wife, BETTY HILL, I will my estate to be equally
divided between my two daughters viz, COMFORT SHAW and NANNY BRIAN in a quiet and
Peaceable manner.

THIRDLY and lastly I constitute an ordained this to be my last will and testament
disannulling all others heretofore by me made.

As witness my hands this 8th day of January in the year of Our Lord 1778.

Memorandum

The 20th day of January 1778 personally appeared before me PHILLIPS KOLLOCK
register appointed for the probate of wills and granting letters of administration
for the county of Sussex on Delaware, the subscribers SAMUEL CARY and WILLIAM
KOLLOCK two of the witnesses to the within will subscribing and being solemnly
sworn on the holy evangelists of almighty God depose and say that in their sight,
presence, and hearing the testator, SOLOMON HILL, did sign, seal, publish,
pronounce, and declare that within written to be his last will and testament and
that at the doing their of he was a sound and perfect mind and memory and judgment
to the best of their knowledge and belief and that they and each of them together
with JOHN BRADY [BRADEY] subscribed the same as evidence at the request and in the
presence of the testator.
