War, Rev, Pension, William Robinson Roster of South Carolina Patriots in the American Revolution VOLUME II K-Z ROBISON, WILLIAM 521452 b. 18 March 1760, Pa. He enlisted, while residing in York District, under Lt. JOHN BRANNON and Col. THOMAS NEEL. In June 1780, he was a lieutenant under Capt. JAMISON and Col. LOCKE and served in a North Carolina unit. He then joined Gen. SUMTER and was in Huck's Defeat, the battles at Rocky Mount and Hanging Rock, where he was wounded in the shoulder by a musket ball. After being released from the hospital, he rejoined Capt. JAMISON as a private and was in the battle at Cowpens. He also served at one time under Capt. BARNETT as a spy. Later, in 1781, he joined Gen. SUMTER as a spy. Next, he was under Capt. MOFFETT and Gen. GREENE. He was in the battles at Biggin Church and Wappoo Bridge. At sometime, probably late 1781 and early 1782, he was under Capt. EDWARD MARTIN and Col. WINN. A.A. 6531; 0158; 520.
