D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy one personally appeared before me Clerk of the county court of the county of Franklin state of Tennessee a court of record within and for the county and state aforesaid, DAVID DAVIS age 78 years, a resident County of Franklin and state of Tennessee, who being duly sworn according to law declared that he was married that his wife's name was Jane Patterson, now deceased, to whom he was married in Lincoln County North Carolina in 1819 and that he served the full period of six months service in the United States in the War of 1812 and that he is the identical DAVID DAVIS who volunteered in Captain WILLIAM KINDRICK’s Company, Colonel HUGH MEAN’s regiment (not remembered the number of the division) Yorkville in the state of South Carolina on September 1814 and was honorably discharged at Charleston on March 1815. That he served as a private and did Duty in guarding the City of Charleston South Carolina. That he has received two land warrants (number is not recollected) and the acts not remember under which they were drawn. That he had no time during the late rebellion against the authority of the United States adhered to the cause of the enemy of the government giving them aid and comfort, or exercised the functions of any office whatever under any authority or pretended authority and hostility against the United States; and that he will support the Constitution of the United States that he is not in receipt of a pension under any previous act. That he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension role of the United States under the provision of the Act of February 14th 1871 and hereby constitutes an appoints with full power of substitution and revocation CHARLES C. JENNINGS a Justice of the Peace within and for the county and state aforesaid, DAVID DAVIS, aged 59 years a resident of Lincoln county in the state of Tennessee, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical DAVID DAVIS who was a private soldier in the company commanded by Captain WILLIAM KENDRICK in the Regiment of (the character of troops not remembered but thinks part of the regiment were drafted and part volunteers) commanded by HUGH MEANS in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812. That he volunteered at Yorkville District in the state of South Carolina on or about the 30th of September 1814 for the term of six months and was honorably discharged at Charleston about the 6th day of March 1815. He having received no regular discharge, appears by the muster rolls of the said company he makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining a Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the Act granting Bounty Land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States, passed September 28th 1850. Being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical DAVID DAVIS who was a private in the company commanded by Captain WILLIAM KINDRICK of the Regiment of South Carolina volunteers commanded by Colonel HUGH MEANS in the war with Great Britain of 1812 for the term of six months and continued an actual service inside War for 14 days and that he has heretofore made application for Bounty Land under the act of September 28th 1850 and received a land warrant number 40772 for eighty acres which he has since legally disposed of and can not now return. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the additional Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the ACT approved the 3rd day of March 1855. He also declares that he has never applied for nor received under any other act of Congress any Bounty Land warrant except the one above mentioned.
