Deed, SC, York, ROBERT JOHNSTON to JAMES BRIANT, 1808 No. 153 State of South Carolina KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that I, ROBERT JOHNSTON, of the District of York and state aforesaid, planter, for and in consideration of $500 to me in hand paid by JAMES BRIANT [BRYAN] of the state and District aforesaid have granted, bargained, sold, and released and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and release unto the said JAMES BRIANT [BRYANT] all that Plantation or tract of land lying on the Waters of Allison's Creek in the district and state aforesaid. Beginning at a Black Oak near a large spring, corner to PATRICK's land and running with his Line S 33 W 104 poles to a White Oak on JAMES CAMPBELL's line; thence N 170 poles to a white oak; thence N 32 E 172 poles to a hickory; thence N 86 E 122 poles along JAMES CAMPBELL's line to a hickory or stake near his corner; thence S 13 W 125 poles to a stake; thence S 6 E 174 poles to a Hickory on PATRICK's line; thence N 65 W 162 poles along said PATRICK's line to the beginning. CONTAINING by estimation 230 Acres, be the same more or less. TOGETHER WITH ALL and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said JAMES BRIANT, his heirs and assigns forever. AND I DO HEREBY BIND MYSELF, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said JAMES BRIANT [BRIAN] his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
