Sealed with my seal, and dated the 5th day of May in the year of Our Lord 1785 and in the 90 year of American independence. The condition of the above written obligation is such, that, if the above bounden SIMON SALTERS his heirs, executors, or administrators, or any of them, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid, into the public treasury of this state, in two equal moieties or half parts, the one in two years, and the other in three years, from the 17th day of May last being the date of a warrant for 1000 acres of land to him the said SIMON SALTERS the full and just some of £150 pounds sterling, in gold or silver, that is to say, in Mexican or Spanish milled dollars at £0.4.8 each, or half Johanneses has at £1.17.4 each, and all other coins at the same rate in proportion without fraud or further delay, then the above written obligation to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
